Client stories

What clients carried into their move

Specific accounts from people who used our German health insurance and social contribution consultations.

A couple arriving six weeks apart

“We had read about Familienversicherung but could not tell which date actually mattered. Lea drew a timeline for my employment start, my husband’s arrival, and the end of his Polish cover. The insurer still had to decide our case, but we asked much sharper questions and stopped sending documents at random.”
Agnieszka, product designer moving to Hamburg

A first German payslip

“The session was more detailed than I expected, and I probably did not need the full section on contribution ceilings yet. Still, having Pflegeversicherung explained separately from health insurance meant my first payslip no longer looked like unexplained deductions.”
Samir, civil engineer relocating from Rabat

A freelance plan paused at the right moment

“I booked hoping for a direct answer about public versus private cover. Jonas explained why they could not make that recommendation and identified the eligibility and income questions a licensed adviser needed to examine. It was not the instant verdict I wanted, but it prevented me from comparing tariffs on the wrong assumptions.”
Nora, independent illustrator

From offer letter to useful questions

Daniel’s German employer had sent a standard onboarding list three weeks before his move from Dublin. He understood the request to select a statutory fund, but not the separate references to pension and long-term care insurance. During a Payslip Contributions Briefing, we annotated a blank payslip and marked which questions belonged to payroll and which belonged to the health fund.

He left without a net-salary prediction—tax calculation was outside scope—but with an email checklist for payroll and a record-retention list for his annual social-security report.
